Happy Mother's Day

I guess when I think of it we were both lucky to connect. Some how in this great big universe my mom and dad met and had two wonderful children. My mother, Carrie she is an amazing women. She is beautiful, practical, honest, hardworking, some would say, she is the salt of the earth kind of women. Growing up she always made time for fun. We had parties for anything and everything. She laughed alot. She sang alot. She wrote songs for my brother and I. She taught us so many new and fabulous things. She made us develop imaginations. Create stories, dance, make up a play, draw or go outside. Growing up is never easy. It is painful sometimes. You can feel hurt, and loss and sadness. But, after 32 years of being loved uncondishionaly, and given the room to grow to be all I can be, It's mom I have to thank, and notice she was the first teacher, the first one to guide, and the first to love me. She always said, " you can be anything you want to be" I have done almost everything I have ever wanted to do. And I really think it is because of those words that echo day after day in my ears. I don't have fear when it comes to trying new things. I don't worry if I will fall cause, I know my mom will help pick me up. On the eve of Mother's Day weekend. I can't figure out a gift to give her that could say all of this. So I used my blog to kinda put it out there. Tell anyone who reads it. And remind me of how lucky I am to have a terrific, strong, caring woman as my mom. Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you so much. Your my friend and family and everything. Always and Forever... your lele

On May 2nd we packed up the car and headed south. It was pouring rain that morning, but it still did not stop us. We planned a two night getaway camping in Big Sur. Ventana Campgrounds. Once we reached the ocean the clouds started to clear and bring out the sun. Here we are at Phieffer Beach
A view from our Tent. Taken in the rain.
On May 3rd we woke up feeling not so fresh as we froze our little tooties all night. In fact we took the blanket away from the dog and had her sleep with us. Anything, to stay warm. When we finally managed to get warm we sleep way into the morning. 10am in fact. This is very unusual for us. It did not matter it was my birthday so all we had ahead of us was hiking and a long cheese lunch at Nepethe.
a perfect bithday cake. made fresh that moment from the famous pastry chef Christopher Pickup
This is California...
